Role Purpose
The Housing Tutor will deliver teaching, coaching, and assessment support aligned to the Level 4 Senior Housing and Property Management apprenticeship standard and the CIH Level 4 Certificate in Housing. The Housing Tutor will support learners to develop a high-quality portfolio of evidence, integrate on-the-job (OTJ) learning into workplace practice, and progress confidently towards gateway and end-point assessment.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
* Deliver structured remote and online teaching sessions aligned to apprenticeship standards and CIH expectations.
* Plan and implement learners’ Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and provide robust Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG) to ensure a strong start.
* Embed OTJ learning, translating theory into workplace tasks and coaching learners on high-quality evidence.
* Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, and session materials in line with curriculum and quality team requirements.
* Conduct regular progress reviews and maintain accurate learner records in line with our client’s KPIs and quality standards.
Assessment and Quality
* Apply assessment approaches, including portfolio evidence, task-based assessment, presentations, and professional discussion.
* Provide timely, constructive feedback to support learner progression and confidence.
* Maintain accurate, auditable records of teaching, learning, and assessment activity.
* Contribute to internal quality assurance processes, including standardisation and mentoring of staff where required.
Stakeholder and Learner Support
* Build and maintain professional relationships with learners and employers to support engagement, attendance, and progress.
* Identify and escalate risks affecting engagement, progress, or OTJ evidence capture and work collaboratively to resolve them.
* Support optional unit scoping to inform curriculum design and programme planning.
* Represent the organisation professionally in meetings and events, promoting the interests of our client.
Compliance and Professionalism

* Comply with Safeguarding, Prevent, and Health & Safety policies.
* Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
* Undertake Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to maintain sector and teaching practice currency.
