The Role:
As the HR Master Data Lead, you will be the authority on HR data integrity, governance and lifecycle management across a complex multinational business. Data Operations & Lifecycle Management
Manage the full lifecycle of HR master data including creation, changes, terminations and mass updates Support restructures, reorganisations and acquisition-related data harmonisation Collaborate with IT/Data teams on data pipelines, integrations and transformation rules Develop documentation, data dictionaries and clear governance frameworks Ensure data availability and reliability for reporting, dashboards and analytics
Workday as the Core Source of Truth (Secondary Focus)
Maintain and govern data structures within Workday (HCM Core, organisations, positions, job profiles) Partner with HR Ops and Talent to streamline data processes and improve accuracy at point of entry Support Workday releases only where they impact data models, reporting or governance Ensure alignment between Workday and all connected reporting/analytics solutions
Reporting, Insights & Analytics Enablement
Improve how HR data is visualised and consumed across dashboards and leadership reporting Partner with BI/Analytics teams to ensure data models and pipelines support strategic workforce insights Provide deep-dive data analysis to explain anomalies, trends, and risks Enable evidence-based decisions through high-quality, trusted datasets
Security, Compliance & Risk
Maintain strict adherence to GDPR and global data privacy requirements Oversee access models, permissioning, audit trails and segregation of duties Lead investigations into data errors and drive systemic, sustainable fixes Support audits and regulatory reporting with accurate master data outputs
Experience Required:
5+ years in HR data management, master data governance, or HRIS data operations Strong understanding of data structures, data modelling, data lifecycle and quality frameworks Experience running global data governance programs and defining master data standards Good working knowledge of Workday, primarily as the data backbone rather than configuration focus Advanced reporting skills (Calculated Fields, BIRT, Prism, or similar BI tools) Strong analytical mindset with proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex data errors Experience supporting integrations, data pipelines or ingestion processes between HR and downstream systems Excellent communicator who can influence stakeholders and champion data disciplines Experience contributing to HR, data or technology transformation projects (Agile, PMP or Prince2 beneficial)
