Technical Director
and working alongside mechanical, electrical and controls specialists, responsibilities will include:
Commissioning Responsibilities Commission and performance-test commercial air-to-water heat pump systems and associated plant. Manage and coordinate contractors that will pre-commission, balance and optimise heating, hydraulic, and ventilation systems. Coordinate and manage the Integration of the new low carbon technologies and ensure the new interfaces with BMS / controls platforms. Verify and witness system safety, flowrates, temperatures, pressures, sequencing and operating logic. Conduct functional testing, witness testing and client demonstrations. Troubleshoot system issues and implement corrective actions. Produce commissioning plans, check sheets and sign-off documentation. Support handover, training and post-occupancy optimisation. Provide support and attendance where required to aftercare if post-handover issues arise.
Project and Team Interaction Work with design, installation, and project managers throughout delivery. Prepare the system for handover to the aftercare team. Review installation quality before commissioning. Provide technical feedback and continuous improvement input. Liaise with manufacturers and controls integrators. Represent the company professionally on client sites.
Essential Minimum
4 years commissioning experience
in HVAC or related discipline. Background in
Mechanical, Electrical, BMS/Controls, or Refrigeration. Strong understanding of commercial heating/hydraulic systems. Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams and control sequences. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and client-facing confidence. Competent with MS Office and reporting documentation. Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Experience with commercial heat pump systems. Knowledge of leisure centres, swimming pools or large-scale HVAC. F-Gas category certification (not mandatory if non-refrigeration route). Controls integration experience (Trend, Siemens, Schneider, etc.). Health & Safety knowledge or qualifications (e.g., IOSH, SMSTS). Experience supporting client relationships and
site teams.

Location:
Hybrid working arrangements between home and the Leisure Energy Technology Centre in Worcestershire with some site visits across the UK.
