Industrial Maintenance Electrician

Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment. Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards. Collaborate with Client management to plan and complete electrical installations. Troubleshoot electrical issues efficiently to minimise downtime. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities. Assist in the development of safety procedures related to electrical work. Provide training and guidance to junior staff on electrical best practices. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in electrical technology. Qualifications Core Electrical Qualifications
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
in Electrical Installation/Maintenance (e.g. City & Guilds 2357/2365). 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
certificate. Apprenticeship completion
or demonstrable time-served industrial experience. Safety & Compliance (Ideal though not essential as in house training provided)
CSCS/ECS card
(Electrical JIB Gold Card preferred). Health & Safety training , e.g. IOSH Working Safely or equivalent. Confined spaces, working at height, and quarry/steel-site safety induction
(MPQC or similar) as appropriate. Strong understanding of
Permit-to-Work systems , risk assessments, and isolation/lock-out procedures. Technical Skills & Experience
Installation and maintenance of
3-phase industrial power systems , motor controls, MCC panels, variable speed drives (VSDs), PLCs, and instrumentation. Fault-finding and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on
heavy plant and conveyors, crushers, furnaces, and recycling equipment. Ability to read electrical schematics, carry out testing and inspection, and complete detailed service documentation. Preferred Industry Background
Previous employment in
quarrying, steel making, foundry operations, waste/recycling plants , or comparable heavy industrial environments. Familiarity with
harsh and dusty conditions , high-voltage machinery, and continuous production lines. Personal Attributes
Strong
problem-solving
skills and ability to work independently on shifts. Commitment to
health, safety and environmental standards. Flexibility for
on-call work, shift patterns, and overtime
