Infrastructure Engineer
A leading retailer are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to support CCTV deployments and communications cabinet remediation within enterprise network environments.
As the Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for preparing network racks and comms rooms through structured cabling remediation, rack space optimisation, legacy equipment removal, and power/fibre management to enable safe installation of CCTV and network hardware.
The work will be carried out within live Cisco network environments, ensuring cabinets meet operational standards for accessibility, airflow, cable management, and power distribution. Experience with Cisco infrastructure and Software Defined Access (SDA) environments is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities Network Cabinet Remediation * Performed comms cabinet remediation to prepare racks for CCTV and network equipment installations. * Executed port purge activities, identifying and removing unused, redundant, or abandoned cabling from communications rooms. * Conducted rack space optimisation, repositioning or removing equipment to create sufficient installation clearance. * Removed legacy telecoms infrastructure, including obsolete voice panels, modules, and mounting bars obstructing switch access. * Completed space remediation to improve rack capacity, airflow, and cabinet organisation.
