Day Rate: £1000-1200pd Inside of IR35 (DOE)CT1003I’m supporting a private equity–backed, multi-site UK services platform operating in a highly regulated environment to appoint an Interim Group Head of Tax and Treasury.This is a critical Group finance leadership role within a complex organisation delivering essential services at national scale. The business operates across multiple regulated divisions, partnering extensively with public sector stakeholders and managing significant contractual and compliance obligations.The mandate is clear: protect value, optimise structure, ensure compliance and support strategic growth.The Opportunity:Reporting to the Group Finance Director, this is a standalone role with full ownership of Group tax affairs and oversight of treasury governance. Tax leadership forms the majority of the remit (c.80%), with treasury oversight focused on banking, reporting and covenant management. You will play a key role in supporting the Group through ongoing transformation, financing and transaction activity.Key Responsibilities:Tax Strategy, Governance & Value ProtectionOwnership of Group tax strategy and risk frameworkManaging effective tax rate and identifying structural optimisation opportunitiesFull oversight of corporate tax, indirect tax, employment taxes and transfer pricingLead relationship with HMRC including risk reviews and enquiriesEnsuring robust compliance across all statutory and regulatory tax requirementsOversight of VAT and partial exemption structures in complex service environmentsOwnership of IR35 governance and employment tax riskProvision of commercial tax guidance to senior leadership and operating divisionsTransaction support including due diligence, structuring and post-deal integrationTreasury Governance & Financial Risk ManagementOversight of treasury controls, governance and cash visibilityBanking relationships, reporting and covenant complianceSupporting funding strategy and financing structuresEnsuring appropriate facilities to support operational and strategic needsCandidate ProfileSenior, qualified tax leader (CTA / ACA / ACCA or equivalent)Proven experience leading tax in large, complex, multi-entity organisationsStrong technical command across corporate tax, VAT and employment taxExperienced managing HMRC engagement and regulatory scrutinyTransaction
