We are seeking an experienced leader to join a London local authority as the Interim Strategic Head of Asset Management. This role is pivotal in providing strategic direction across asset management, capital programme governance, and procurement oversight at a corporate level. The main responsibilities include leading the clients Strategic Asset Management function, ensuring effective utilisation and long-term planning of the corporate estate, and overseeing governance for the client-wide Capital Programme. The role requires driving performance, reporting standards, and ensuring alignment across different directorates. Additionally, the individual will provide strategic leadership to the Procurement and Commercial function, ensuring compliance, value for money, and effective contract performance. The successful candidate will drive the development and delivery of the Capital Strategy and Strategic Asset Management Plan, aligning them with broader client priorities and the Medium-Term Financial Strategy. Leadership of multi-disciplinary teams is crucial, as is fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. The role entails engaging with senior officers, Members, and external stakeholders, ensuring clear, accurate, and timely reporting. The ideal candidate will possess proven senior-level experience in strategic asset management, capital programme oversight, or corporate property within a local authority context.
