Reporting into the Head of Dealing & Implementation, you will be responsible for supporting the execution of trades across multiple asset classes and the implementation of portfolio rebalances for Model Portfolio Services (MPS.) The responsibility will cover direct execution of underlying instruments and oversight of collective investment scheme dealing activity for internally managed funds.
In addition the Portfolio Implementation team will provide support to Portfolio Managers, working with other teams to ensure that all products and solutions are correctly set up to trade, coordinating the resolution of systems and data issues to ensure that trading strategies can be modelled, overseeing the successful implementation of trading activity for internally managed funds and supporting the implementation of model portfolios (MPS) rebalancing activity across platforms, including FNZ.
As a highly regulated function the role will require adherence to all regulated activity including MIFID II best execution, transaction cost analysis and liquidity and risk monitoring.
Trade Execution
- Execution of trades for directly held securities including equity, fixed income, investment trusts and exchange traded derivatives.
- Oversight of collective investment scheme dealing activity for internally managed funds.
- Support the implementation of model portfolios (MPS) rebalancing activity across platforms.
- Management and oversight of broker and counterparty relationships,
- Contribute towards the optimisation of trading strategies, monitor transaction costs, and conduct regular counterparty due diligence.
- Work with other teams to ensure that all products and solutions are correctly set up to trade, coordinating the resolution of systems and data issues to ensure that trading strategies can be modelled and executed.
- Provide general support to the Portfolio Managers in relation to data requests, ad hoc portfolio analysis and the resolution of any issues that could impact the execution of trading strategies.
- You will represent Investment Implementation team on business initiatives, change and enhancements e.g. new product launches.
To be successful in this role you will be someone who has previously worked in asset or wealth management, on a dealing desk with experience trading different instruments.
As you will be joining a multi-asset team you will need to have a good working knowledge of Collective Investment schemes and Investment Trusts - knowledge of derivatives would be advantageous, but not essential.
You will have experience in working accurately under time pressure and the ability to re-prioritise tasks as the requirements of the investment desk change intra-day/week/month.
You will have be able to demonstrate times where you have taken change initiative and developed tools or processes that have built efficiencies and decreased operational risk in your current role.
