SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Newham, East London Setting: Secondary School
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive secondary school in Newham. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of young people with special educational needs.
The Role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the SEN department to support students with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, learning difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs. Support may be provided on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, both in and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
Support students with SEN to access the curriculum
Assist with the implementation of EHCPs and individual learning plans
Promote positive behaviour and inclusion
Support students' academic, social and emotional development
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
Has experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable)
Is patient, caring and resilient
Has strong communication and teamwork skills
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Has a positive, proactive approach to supporting learning
