The Role This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the early stages of their career to gain hands-on experience in both Quantity Surveying and Estimating. Working closely with senior members of the Commercial team, you will assist in preparing tenders, carrying out take-offs, compiling cost data, and supporting the commercial management of projects. The role provides structured development, mentoring, and clear routes for progression within the business.
Key Responsibilities Assisting with preparing cost estimates and tender submissions
Supporting take-offs and first-principles pricing under supervision
Helping compile valuations and interim applications for payment
Assisting with the preparation of variation documentation
Supporting monthly CVR updates and commercial reporting
Maintaining project files, commercial records, and cost data
Liaising with internal teams and suppliers to gather information
Skills & Experience Some experience or exposure to Quantity Surveying or Estimating (placement year, internship, or early role desirable but not essential)
Studying towards or holding a Degree/HNC in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline (or equivalent experience)
Basic understanding of construction processes; familiarity with JCT contracts is a bonus
Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills
Eager to learn with a proactive, positive attitude
Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel
Additional Requirements Full right to work in the UK
Full valid UK driving licence (desirable)
Willingness to grow and take on increasing responsibility
