OverviewKnowledge Development Lawyer - Commercial Litigation at Ampa - Legal & Professional Services. Role involves generating and transferring knowledge within the Litigation and Dispute Resolution team, supporting a knowledge-sharing culture. Open to full-time or part-time (4 days a week).What you will be doingProvide know-how support and development for the Litigation and Dispute Resolution team, in collaboration with senior leadership to develop practice and sector-specific knowledge.Monitor changes to legislation, civil procedure rules and case law that affect client work; disseminate updates through training and resources.Support fee earners with technical legal knowhow, tactical advice and practical application of the law.Develop and maintain team know-how resources such as precedents and checklists, reflecting best practice and changes in the law.Business Development & Client ServicesSupport and drive business development initiatives, including launching products to market for clients.Contribute to articles, case studies, briefings, newsletters or other client materials; stay updated on competitors’ offerings for client delivery and new opportunities.Internal TrainingIdentify training priorities and arrange internal and external training on changes to law, practice and precedents.Organise internal and external speakers to deliver specialist topics.Innovation/Business EfficiencyIdentify legal technology or tools to provide cost-effective solutions for clients.Support standardisation of documents via precedents and clause banks; contribute to document automation of chosen precedents or tasks.Develop and maintain team know-how resources such as precedents and checklists.What you will needIdeally, 6+ years PQE at a reputable firm with interest in transitioning into a Knowledge Lawyer/PSL role. PSL experience is advantageous but not essential.Technical experience handling high-quality dispute resolution work; solid understanding of knowledge management.Arbitration and advocacy experience (as fee earner or PSL) would be beneficial.Ability to digest, analyse and communicate complex issues clearly to internal and external clients.Commercial awareness and enthusiasm for business development.First-class drafting and communication skills.Experience developing and delivering client or in-house training.Highly IT literate; proficient with MS Office and legal/business information systems; experience with SharePoint or similar platforms.Interest in or experience with legal technology, including document automation, AI tools, e-signatures and extranet sites.Please note that preferred experience is a guideline and does not preclude applications from candidates with different levels of experience.Key competenciesRespond promptly to requests for work including research, expertise, training materials and other information.Be highly organised with sound judgment and attention to detail.Be self-initiating, proactive, and able to progress tasks independently while seeking guidance when needed.Communicate effectively in a multi-cultural environment; build credibility and strong relationships with stakeholders.Work well within a virtual team; promote connections between business units.Benefits, Agile Working And Additional InformationAmpa embraces agile working and a blended approach to where and how we work.
