LABORATORY TECHNICIAN (Materials Testing)

Monday To Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm
My client is a leading provider of flexible packaging and technical films, known for its focus on sustainability and innovation. With over a century of experience, they have established themselves as a global supplier, catering to a wide range of industries including food, consumer goods, agriculture, chemicals, and medical products.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within a growing technical team for a Laboratory Technician to support a new area of focus. This role is ideal for someone with prior laboratory experience, particularly within materials or plastics testing, who is looking to further develop their analytical and reporting skills in a commercial environment.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct a range of laboratory tests on materials, particularly plastics and films
Accurately record, analyse and interpret test results
Present findings in a clear and meaningful way to support business decisions
Maintain high standards of laboratory practice, ensuring compliance with relevant procedures and quality systems
Work in a structured, methodical manner to ensure consistency and reliability of results
Collaborate with internal teams to provide technical insights and supportExperience:
Previous laboratory experience (ideally within plastics or materials testing)
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and communicate results effectively
A methodical, organised and detail-oriented approach to work
Familiarity with laboratory best practices and quality standards
Ability to work independently and as part of a teamNote: Prior experience using these specific machines is not essential; however, a solid understanding of laboratory standards and testing principles is important.

Gauge measurement tools
Opacity and clarity testers
Melt Flow Index (MFI) apparatus
Elmendorf tear testers
Haze measurement systems
