Job Description
Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading O&M provider to recruit a Lead Electrical Control and Instrumentation Technician for its Energy from Waste power plant in Hull. \nThe Lead Electrical Control and Instrumentation Technician role offers a competitive salary, pension scheme, and excellent opportunities for professional development. \nIf you're an Electrical Control and Instrumentation Technician seeking to contribute to a site that's driving innovation in sustainable energy, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.\n\nResponsibilities and duties of the Lead EC and I Technician role\n\nReporting to the EC and I Engineer, you will:\n\nProvide technical and day-to-day leadership across all electrical, control and instrumentation maintenance activities on site\nEnsure EC and I works are planned and delivered in line with corporate, legislative and safety standards\nLead the EC and I maintenance team and coordinate third-party contractors to ensure safe and timely task delivery\nSupport fault finding, investigation and resolution of plant issues in collaboration with operations and engineering teams\nPlan and schedule maintenance activities through the site CMMS, ensuring accurate reporting and continuous improvement\nCoordinate EC and I input into projects, outages and plant modifications, including effective handover into operations\nSupport compliance activities including audits, inspections and KPI reporting\nContribute to the maintenance of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 accreditation\nProvide out of hours and emergency call-out support as part of the site rota\n\nProfessional qualifications\n\nWe are looking for someone with the following:\n\nTime served apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline\nIOSH Managing Safely qualification\nExperience working in power , energy from waste or a continuous high-hazard process environment\nStrong knowledge of HV and LV systems, control systems, instrumentation and distributed control systems\nExperience supervising technicians and managing contractor activities\nAbility to interpret engineering drawings and P&IDs\nWorking knowledge of permit to work systems and safe systems of work\nExperience using a computerised maintenance management system \n\nPersonal skills\n\nThe Lead EC and I Technician role would suit someone who is:\n\nA confident technical lead with a strong commitment to safety\nOrganised and able to prioritise work in a fast-paced operational environment\nCollaborative and comfortable working across engineering, operations and projects\nProactive, dependable and focused on continuous improvement\nClear and professional in communication with teams and stakeholders\n\nSalary and benefits of the Lead EC and I Technician role\n\nCompetitive salary\n 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays\n Flexible benefits package including overtime, bonus and pension contribution.
