Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Parkside House School, Backworth, NE27 0AB
Salary: £20,906.25 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only
Start: September 2025

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant to join our close-knit team at Parkside House School located in Backworth.
About the role
To provide a high quality education support service to Service Users and in accordance with Company policies, procedures and practices and the standards set by the Regulatory Body.
Key task areas and responsibilities
- To support the class teacher/tutor in order to ensure the delivery of a high quality education for all students
- To support the class teacher and/or tutor to ensure that all relevant education policies and procedures are implemented in full
- To provide relevant and appropriate support to students, on an individual or group basis, in order to enable them to access the curriculum as independently as possible
- To promote, in line with Company policies, the physical, educational and moral development of the students
- To ensure that the available equipment and resources are used, stored and maintained efficiently, reporting any maintenance issues to the appropriate staff
Driving licence required as this role may require working across both of our Parkside House School sites, located in Backworth and Ashington.

Parkside House School is an Independent Special School. Our school aims to provide a high-quality education package to pupils who have difficulties in relating to education or others within a mainstream setting.
The school is registered to accommodate 35 pupils from 10 – 18 years; we specialise in teaching pupils with Emotional, Social and Behavioural needs, and with other associated learning and cognitive difficulties.
The aim of the site is to provide enough support to unlock each pupil’s potential so they can live fulfilling and productive lives. We provide young people with as much freedom as possible in a safe and supervised environment. This is achievable due to the dedication and support from a range of employed professionals who are passionate, reliable, and understanding.
