Legal Counsel – Infrastructure M&A (UK)

Permanent | London | Hybrid Working

A leading global investment manager is seeking an ambitious Legal Counsel to join its Infrastructure Legal team. This is a rare opportunity to move in-house into a high-performing, transaction-focused environment with exceptional career progression potential.


The Role

As Legal Counsel, you’ll play a key part in supporting infrastructure M&A transactions and the ongoing management of a diverse portfolio of assets. The work is genuinely varied, fast-paced, and commercially rich, with a roughly:

  • 70% focus on M&A / transactions
  • 30% focus on asset management and portfolio support

You will work closely with senior stakeholders and investment teams, gaining direct visibility on complex deals across the UK, Europe, and globally.


Ideal Background

We are interested in hearing from lawyers who:

  • Have 3–6 years PQE (flexible).
  • Trained and qualified at a leading private practice firm, or have in-house experience within funds, infrastructure, or private equity.
  • Bring strong transactional experience and enjoy working in a lean, highly collaborative team.
  • Are motivated by meaningful progression — clear pathways exist to senior levels as you begin to run your own deals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support and execute M&A transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, co-investments, and fund activity.
  • Negotiate and draft a broad range of corporate and commercial agreements.
  • Advise on shareholder arrangements, regulatory matters, and governance.
  • Work closely with top-tier external counsel across major international firms.
  • Partner with investment, asset management, and senior leadership teams.
