About this job

This post is to strengthen the existing team of Gynaecologists at the Liverpool Women’s Hospital.

The team provides care to women across Merseyside, Cheshire, North Wales, and the Isle of Mann.

Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust delivers the highest standards of care for women, babies and families. Each year we deliver over 7,500 babies, carry out over 49,000 gynaecological inpatient and outpatient procedures, care for over 1,000 preterm newborns, perform around 1,000 IVF cycles and have over 4,000 genetic appointments taking place.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will play an important role in assisting with the provision of general gynaecology, including emergency gynaecology, outpatient general and special interest clinics as well as inpatient elective gynaecological surgery both major and minimal access.

The successful candidate may participate in the provision of emergency gynaecology.

This will not include on call out of hours but may include being a part of the 'hot week' team for general gynaecology.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to medical education for undergraduate and postgraduate doctors.

The successful candidate will be expected to lead on the development of new pathways and support the senior management team in shaping the future strategy of the gynaecology services within a special tertiary centre.
