Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full time, Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week
Annual Leave: 30 days per year plus statutory Bank Holidays (38 days altogether)
Pension: Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)
About the Role
As a Technical Trainer - Machining, you will deliver high-quality training and assessment to apprentices and learners working towards machining qualifications and apprenticeship standards. You will work closely with employers to plan learning, monitor progress, and ensure learners are fully prepared for End Point Assessment. Teaching and assessing qualifications are desirable but not essential
- full training and support will be provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver and assess machining training, including Machining BTEC units and apprenticeship standards
Carry out learner induction, initial assessments, and develop individual learning plans
Maintain a caseload of learners and support them to achieve qualifications on time
Provide guidance to learners and employers to promote progress and achievement
Monitor learner progress in the workplace and ensure standards are met
Build positive relationships with employers, partners, and stakeholders
Conduct employer health and safety risk assessments
Contribute to programme targets for recruitment, retention, attendance, and achievement
Create a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment
Essential Requirements:
NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or Machining Strong industry experience in machining
A passion for developing others and sharing technical knowledge
Experience of working with apprentices in a workshop setting Good communication and organisational skills
Ability to work effectively with learners, employers, and colleagues
Willingness to work towards teaching or assessing qualifications if not already held
