SALARY:
up to £35,000 per annum pro rata (subject to experience)
LOCATION:
Ashton Keynes, Swindon, Wiltshire (SN6) - Travelling to the site will always be against the traffic
JOB TYPE:
Full-Time OR Part-Time, Permanent
NO Shifts
FULL-TIME WORKING HOURS:
Monday to Thursday 8.00am - 17.00pm, Fridays till 2pm
PART-TIME WORKING HOURS:
3 Days per Week
JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Machinist / Miller / Turner / CNC Engineer with experience in precision machining, CNC milling and engineering manufacturing processes.
As a Machinist / Miller / Turner / CNC Engineer you will join a small, skilled team producing bespoke components using 3, 4 and 5 axis bed mills with conversational programming in a non-repetitive workshop environment.
Working as a Machinist / Miller / Turner / CNC Engineer you will also operate conventional lathes and other machinery, contributing to high-quality engineering solutions across sectors including medical, defence and electronics.

Travelling is normally against the traffic going to Swindon & Cheltenham areas. Parking is on own farm site.

DUTIES
Your duties as the Machinist / Miller / Turner / CNC Engineer include:
CNC Milling Operations:
Manufacture components using 3, 4 and 5 axis bed mills
Conversational Programming:
Set and operate machines using ProtoTRAK controls
Precision Engineering:
Produce high-quality bespoke components to specification
Turning Work:
Manufacture parts using conventional lathes
Machine Operation:
Use additional workshop equipment including pillar drills and surface grinders
Quality Control:
Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in all machining processes
Technical Collaboration:
Work closely with colleagues on custom engineering projects
Workshop Maintenance:
Maintain a safe and organised working environment
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Previous experience in a similar Skilled Machinist role
Experience of using 3 axis SMX & DPM bed mills using Proto Track AGE 3 & SMX0 controls
Experience on 4 & 5 Brother Machining Centres would be highly desirable
Ability to make turned parts on conventional lathes would be an advantage
Ability to operate conventional machine tools such as pillar drills and surface grinders would be beneficial
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to work accurately paying good attention to detail
