We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer Team Leader to complement our existing Telford Engineering team at Northwood.

You will be leading a team responsible for ensuring that the yearly business plan's efficiency, quality, cost, and safety objectives are met or exceeded, ensuring that our facilities, equipment, and machinery are maintained in a safe and cost-effective manner that maximises the overall equipment effectiveness.

This position is a full-time permanent role working a 4 on 4 off rotating days and nights shift pattern. (0600 - 18:00 - 18:00- 06:00)

About the RoleMaintenance Engineer Team Leader Role and Responsibilities

Manage, coach and develop a high performing maintenance team
Foster and promote the One Northwood Strategy
Proactively ensure engineering key performance indicators are achieved
Effective task assignments to team members to effectively utilise resources to achieve desired objectives across the site
Act as a key decision maker for the engineering department out of hours in collaboration with shift manager
Organisation of engineering parts/contractors within the shift, and a proactive approach to following up outstanding actions
Support and Report, investigate incidents/injuries when required
Play an active role in Identifying equipment issues, advising maintenance/operation teams on work needed and opportunities for improvement
Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice maintenance strategies, systems, processes and procedures to improve equipment reliability and play an active role in the department’s problem-solving process

This Maintenance Engineer-Team Leader role would suit candidates with experience working with automated manufacturing equipment as a Mechanical Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, or Multi-Skill Engineer, with an Apprenticeship and HNC or equivalent qualifications in Mechanical Engineering. Requirements

Essential Skills

NVQ Level 5/ HNC/ Degree Qualified Electrical Engineer
Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Maintenance
Managed a small team
Fault-finding on mechanical/electrical equipment
Pneumatic, PLC’s, Inverters and Servo and AC/DC drives
18th Edition qualified or equivalent
Good IT skills – MS Office
Ability to read complex electrical and engineering drawings

Desirable Skills

Demonstrated ability to identify and implement equipment improvements.
Demonstrated experience with implementation of best practice business improvement tools e.g., TPM, Lean.
Experience working with CMMS
