Monday - Friday Job Purpose:
We're hiring a Shift Maintenance Engineer to work on production shifts. Your role will involve solving engineering maintenance and process issues during shifts, supporting new equipment implementation, and ensuring seamless 24-hour production. You'll also provide feedback to the production management team and assist with continuous improvement activities. Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the availability of production and ancillary services equipment during shifts. Support production shift team leaders with daily engineering needs and resolve issues effectively. Conduct planned preventative maintenance and assist in developing the computer maintenance management system. Perform unplanned maintenance and repairs to ensure optimal production runtime. Identify root causes of equipment-related process issues. Assist with the installation and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment. Drive improvements in equipment and processes. Build strong relationships with colleagues across departments. Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations. Provide training and mentoring to production operatives and apprentices. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Formal apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications in electrical, mechanical, or maintenance engineering. Experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment. 18th edition qualification is desirable. Competence with single-phase supplies and equipment; experience with three-phase systems and control panels is preferred. Familiarity with variable speed drives and understanding hydraulic/pneumatic systems is advantageous. Knowledge of bearings and drive transmission systems. Skilled in disassembling and assembling machinery components. Ability to analyze and resolve complex technical problems independently. Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team. Advantageous knowledge of polymer processing technology.
