The Role: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

We are recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Biggleswade. This is a fantastic opportunity for a mechanically biased Mechanical Maintenance Engineer seeking a stable, Monday–Friday daytime role (no-shift pattern) within a fast-paced production environment.

The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will play a key role in maintaining, repairing and improving a range of specialist production machinery to ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity (37.5 hours per week, day shift). The company operates within a precision manufacturing sector and is known for its investment in equipment, processes and long-term staff development.

Main Responsibilities:

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production machinery • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise downtime • Respond to breakdowns and conduct root cause analysis • Maintain hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems • Support tooling changes and machine adjustments where required • Work closely with production teams to maintain operational efficiency • Update and maintain accurate maintenance records • Assist in continuous improvement projects ...
