About the Role:
Our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to support workshop-based maintenance activities for a 3-month contract. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a mechanical bias and a strong background in maintenance within industrial or energy sectors.
12hr shifts, on a shift pattern
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with routine and reactive maintenance involving machine tools in a workshop setting.
Support mechanical and/or electrical maintenance tasks, including tooling.
Diagnose faults and repair breakdowns to minimise operational disruption.
Ensure compliance with Safety, Quality, and Environmental procedures.
Safely use and maintain workshop tools and equipment.
Collaborate with team members and contractors to meet shared goals.
Take part in training to enhance technical skills relevant to the role.
Prepare workshop and materials for scheduled maintenance activities.
Follow purchasing procedures for maintenance consumables under guidance.Key Requirements:
Strong understanding of mechanical and/or electrical maintenance practices (mechanical bias ).
Minimum 2–3 years post-apprenticeship experience in a maintenance role.
Familiarity with risk assessments, safety documentation, and workshop procedures.
Experience in maintaining plant equipment in a workshop environment.
