Management Accountant Location: Hull Salary: £35,000 - £50,000 depending on experience
Consortium are proud to be working exclusively to recruit a Management Accountant to join a modern, friendly SME in the region. You’ll work closely with a supportive Head of Finance, take ownership of key areas, and help shape how the finance function operates as the business continues to grow.
The Opportunity
Working as a Management Accountant you’ll play a central role in managing the numbers and supporting the wider team. Typical responsibilities will include:
Preparing monthly management accounts and associated reports Completing balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring the integrity of financial data Supporting the month-end process – journals, accruals, prepayments and analysis Supporting budgeting and forecasting activity Monitoring and reconciling banking, petty cash and company card expenditure Managing multi-currency transactions Coordinating supplier payment runs and supporting cashflow management Preparing statutory returns, including indirect tax submissions Providing wider finance support and guidance to the team Assisting with monthly payroll As the role develops, there is scope to:
Take on line management responsibility for more junior finance staff Get involved in systems and process improvements as the business invests and expands Free up the Finance Lead to focus on strategy – meaning you gain more exposure and autonomy About You
As the Management Accountant, you will have:
Experience in a finance role with exposure to month-end and management accounts Ideally experience within a manufacturing or similar fast-paced environment Part-qualified or qualified CIMA / ACCA (or equivalent) Confident working with Excel and mainstream accounting systems (e.g. Sage, SAP or similar) Strong attention to detail, with a methodical and organised approach Consortium Professional Recruitment Ltd are a professional level recruitment consultancy specialising in the delivery of high relevance recruitment services on behalf of our clients across the UK.
