Management Accountant – St Austell – 12 month Fixed Term Contract Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 Location: St Austell, Cornwall Hours: Full time Start: ASAP

This Interim Management Accountant opportunity offers the chance to support a well-established organisation through a busy period, playing a key role in delivering accurate reporting, insightful analysis and robust financial control.

We are working with a valued client seeking an Interim Management Accountant. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership, improving processes and turning financial performance into meaningful insight for stakeholders.

What You’ll Be Doing

✔ Supporting the full month-end management accounts ✔ Preparing and posting journals including accruals, prepayments and cost allocations ✔ Producing accurate month-end schedules and contributing to management accounts ✔ Providing variance analysis and commentary against budgets and forecasts ✔ Delivering weekly, monthly and ad-hoc management information to support decision-making ✔ Analysing financial and operational trends, highlighting risks and opportunities ✔ Maintaining accurate KPI reporting and underlying financial data ✔ Supporting budgeting and forecasting cycles, including data collection and consolidation ✔ Working with budget holders to challenge assumptions and identify efficiencies ✔ Preparing high-quality balance sheet reconciliations and resolving outstanding items ✔ Maintaining fixed asset registers, depreciation, additions and disposals ✔ Supporting audits with accurate schedules, explanations and timely responses ✔ Contributing to the strengthening of financial controls and compliance (including VAT)

What We’re Looking For

Experience in management accounting and month-end processes Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to explain financial performance clearly Solid understanding of balance sheet control and fixed asset accounting Confident communicator able to work collaboratively with operational stakeholders Highly organised, proactive and able to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong IT skills, including Excel and financial systems Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of key deliverables
