With a £725 billion commitment, the strategy prioritises stability, private investment, and robust delivery across transport, energy, digital, water, housing, and social infrastructure. Sustainable infrastructure will play a critical role in delivering this strategy. Our team focuses on the following core areas across:The initiation and successful delivery of transformation programmes, tackling our clients’ most pressing and complex initiativesSustainable infrastructure to support the government’s green infrastructure plan and ambition to deliver net zero in the UKThe involvement in early‑stage, large‑scale infrastructure project development activities, as well as ongoing support, to drive more successful infrastructure project deliveryWe are focused on growing our sustainable infrastructure programme focus and large‑scale transformation delivery across our wide range of clients within a variety of sectors, including Government, Transport, Energy and Utilities, Housing and Telecommunications. We want people who are passionate about sustainability and climate change and who are keen to help clients realise decarbonisation and energy transition ambitions.We are looking to grow our overall presence across the infrastructure sector and be involved in the design, development and delivery of significant programmes under the recently published UK Infrastructure 10 Year Strategy.Key ResponsibilitiesManage EY teams to develop and implement solutions that enable the successful delivery of infrastructure transformation projects, including leading workstreams on key client accountsLead the development of robust and sustainable HMT Green Book business casesDevelop innovative solutions from end‑to‑end to support clients in achieving sustainable change, including their transition to net zero / net negativeDeliver presentations to senior clients to provide recommendations and solutions to their problemsManage client stakeholders to achieve alignment and buy‑in to a solutionLead client meetings and workshopsLead the delivery of programmes and projects, both in traditional and agile project environmentsOwn and foster trusted relationships with senior clients that enhance EY’s brand and reputationIdentify future opportunities within the client or broader infrastructure sectorProvide leadership, training, coaching, and guidance to junior staffContribute to business development, using knowledge of the infrastructure market to draft innovative proposalsContribute to internal practice development, around the infrastructure market in general but also within specific competency / capability focus area (e.g. Transformation, Finance, Supply Chain, Technology)Contribute to EY’s positioning across the UK (and global) infrastructure market, through an active social media presence and thought leadership developmentSkills And Attributes For SuccessA strong understanding of, and interest in, the UK infrastructure sector including HMG commitments such as National Infrastructure Strategy and Ten Point Plan for a Green Industrial RevolutionKnowledge of sustainability and climate change challenges across industriesKnowledge of one or more of the following sectors: Energy, Government, Transport, Power and Utilities, Telco and MediaExperience working in industry, government or a management consultancy environmentAbility to analyse data and deliver insightful, practical solutionsExperience of managing teams, including internal staff, clients and wider stakeholdersExperience of delivering presentations to senior audiencesSkills and experience in Portfolio, Programme and Project ManagementStrong commercial acumenExperience of working within both traditional and agile project environmentsThe confidence to build lasting relationships and influence senior colleagues and clients in leading rolesProven ability to adapt and learn in an innovative environmentTo qualify for the roleEducated to degree level or equivalent qualification or experience5+ years experience within the infrastructure sector, with specific experience in one or more sub‑capabilities (e.g. Programme management, business case development, transformation definition & delivery, strategy and policy development)The ability to write to a high standard, whilst being fluent/native in English with additional major languages desiredAbility to make adapt style and approach to suit different contexts and environmentsIdentifying, creating and sustaining valueA willingness to travel and work across the UK and potentially overseasIdeally, you’ll also haveExperience of working on large scale digitally enabled infrastructure programmesAn ability to adapt and learn in an innovative environmentWhat We OfferContinuous learning: You’ll develop the mindset and skills to navigate whatever comes next.Success as defined by you: We’ll provide the tools and flexibility, so you can make a meaningful impact, your way.Transformative leadership: We’ll give you the insights, coaching and confidence to be the leader the world needs.Diverse and inclusive culture: You’ll be embraced for who you are and empowered to use your voice to help others find theirs.EY is committed to being an inclusive employer and we are happy to consider flexible working arrangements.
