Black Cultural Archives (BCA) is the home of Black British history, and one of the most significant cultural institutions in the UK. Our mission is to collect, preserve and celebrate the histories of people of African and Caribbean descent in the UK, and to inspire and give strength to individuals, communities, and society.

A governance refresh is currently underway, and we are recruiting both a new Chair and a new Managing Director who will work in close partnership to bring this vision to life. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to lead one of the UKs most culturally significant institutions into its next chapter. As Managing Director, youll be responsible for inspiring and guiding our team, developing relationships with funders and partners, and overseeing delivery of our strategic and operational plans. Youll bring strong leadership experience, a proven track record in income generation, and the ability to manage change and complexity with confidence and care. A people-focused, emotionally intelligent leader, youll work across communities and sectors, championing BCAs mission and securing its future.
