We are now recruiting for the exciting role of Manufacturing Engineer – Factory Design and Equipment.
Role Purpose:
As a Manufacturing Engineer – Factory Design & Equipment, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing and delivering factory solutions that are both operationally ready and financially viable. Working within the SMR Manufacturing Engineering team, you’ll be responsible for:
- Designing and developing production areas and manufacturing cells.
- Identifying factory and cell requirements and creating concepts for review and implementation.
- Collaborating with process specialists and cross-functional teams to ensure safe, efficient, and effective workspaces.
- Specifying manufacturing equipment, estimating costs, and planning infrastructure and maintenance.
- Proven experience in designing, optimising, and validating manufacturing and operations workspaces.
- Strong knowledge of production planning, value streams, human factors, and risk assessment in manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated experience in specifying, acquiring, installing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment, including full project lifecycle management (technical delivery, schedule, cost, and risk).
- Skilled in managing technical requirements, including elicitation, documentation, validation, and change control.
- Effective communicator across business functions and with leadership, capable of conveying technical decisions, risks, and project status.
- Proficient in 3D modelling tools within PLM environments (e.g. Siemens NX/Line Designer, Process Simulate: Human, Autodesk).
- Knowledge of value stream optimisation using analytical tools, including Discrete Event Simulation (experience with Siemens Plant Simulation is advantageous).
We anticipate paying a salary of between £40,000 - £52,500 DOE plus:-
- Bonus - Performance related target opportunity 12.5%
- Benefits Allowance – £2,200 per annum, enabling you to create a bespoke package
- Pension - 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
- Holidays - 28 days holiday (+ public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days.
- Private Medical Insurance - BUPA single cover health care
- Life Assurance - 6x pensionable pay
- £250 - One-off payment for new starters for home office purchases
