We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer for our client with a strong background in HVAC and building services design. You will be responsible for leading the mechanical design process from feasibility through to construction support, with a particular focus on bespoke aircon and ventilation solutions.\nKey Responsibilities:\n * \n Lead the mechanical design of HVAC systems (air conditioning and ventilation) for new build and refurbishment projects across various sectors including healthcare, education, and commercial.\n * \n Produce detailed mechanical designs including schematics, layout drawings, ductwork and pipework sizing, and equipment selection.\n * \n Prepare and review technical specifications, tender documents, and schedules.\n * \n Collaborate with project managers, installation teams, and clients to ensure designs are practical, efficient, and compliant with current UK building regulations and standards (e.g., CIBSE, BSRIA).\n * \n Conduct site surveys and liaise with installers and contractors to provide technical support during project delivery.\n * \n Perform thermal and ventilation load calculations using industry-standard software (e.g., Hevacomp, IES, AutoCAD, Revit MEP).\n * \n Participate in design review meetings and provide engineering input during project planning and execution.\n * \n Requirements:\n * \n Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design within the UK building services sector. HVAC*\n * \n Proven experience working on HVAC systems in commercial offices, schools, hospitals, and public buildings.\n * \n Strong understanding of UK building regulations, CIBSE guidelines, and sustainable design principles.\n * \n Proficient in CAD (2D/3D), Revit MEP, and HVAC design software.\n * \n Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects.\n * \n HND/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).\n * \n Membership of CIBSE or IMechE (desirable).\nApply today
