Job Description
Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Design - perm role
Location: Anglesey
Salary: £40k to £55k (DoE)
We are recruiting a Senior / Experience Mechanical (Design) Engineer. Part of a dedicated team responsible for designing, analysing, and supporting mechanical products across multiple projects, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and quality systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and draft mechanical components and systems using CAD software.
Perform calculations and finite element analysis (FEA) to validate structural integrity and safety.
Support quotation costing, tender drawings, and technical documentation.
Assist with project monitoring, liaising with production and customers, and ensuring smooth contract control.
Provide technical support to sub-contractors and cross-functional teams.
Maintain product data, Bills of Materials, and design risk assessments.
Contribute to continuous improvement in quality, health, safety, and environmental compliance.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Strong experience in mechanical design and engineering.
Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.).
Knowledge of machining, welding, and sheet metal manufacturing processes.
Analytical skills, with ability to perform calculations and interpret technical data.
Excellent written and verbal communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
Self-motivated, organised, and able to work under pressure.
Desirable Skills:
Experience with DriveWorks or similar design automation software.
Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
