Experienced Mechanical Design Engineer (MEP)

Location: Central London (Hybrid – minimum 1 day per week in the office)

Salary: Up to £75,000 (depending on experience)

Sector: Building Services / MEP Consultancy

An established and growing MEP consultancy is seeking an Experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support the continued expansion of its in-house mechanical design team. This is a key hire, offering autonomy, technical ownership, and the opportunity to play a part in shaping the future of the design function.

The Role

Deliver high-quality mechanical building services designs across a range of projects

Undertake occasional site visits and plantroom surveys , predominantly within the London area

Produce detailed mechanical designs covering HVAC, plant, and associated systems

Provide in-house design solutions and technical support to clients

Work independently while collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders

Support the growth and development of the mechanical design team as the business expands

About You

Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer within an MEP / Building Services environment

Strong HVAC and plantroom design experience

Qualified Mechanical Design Engineer (degree or equivalent)

Sound technical knowledge with the confidence to manage work autonomously

Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of projects

Experience producing surveys, reports, and client-facing design documentation
