Mechanical Design EngineerLocation: North West, UK Our ClientOur Client is an established engineering business is looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects across liquid handling, mixing systems, and thermal energy applications within the food and drink manufacturing sector.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign liquid handling and mixing systems to meet food-grade and hygienic standardsProduce 2D and 3D CAD drawings (AutoCAD) including pipework layouts, skids, and mechanical assembliesDesign cooling systems, hot water generation, and heat recovery solutionsSpecify key components such as pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and tanksDevelop GA drawings, P&IDs, and isometric pipework drawingsCollaborate closely with process, electrical, and installation teamsSupport site surveys, equipment selection, and on-site engineering activitiesRequirementsDegree / HND / HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D)Experience designing pipework systems, ideally within hygienic or food-grade environmentsSolid understanding of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and thermodynamicsKnowledge of hot and chilled water systems, heat recovery, and energy-efficient solutionsStrong technical communication and documentation skillsWhat's on Offer£40-45k Gym DiscountHealth Shield Cash-plan Healthcare plan Opportunity to join a well-established engineering and building services teamExposure to a wide variety of technically interesting projectsJBRP1_UKTJ
