First Achieve Engineering is working with a long-established engineering firm renowned for innovation, quality, and technical excellence across various industrial sectors including Power, Oil & Gas, and Water.
About the Role
We're seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a dynamic and supportive team, where you'll play a key role in the development and delivery of robust engineering solutions to real-world industrial challenges.
Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality technical drawings, CAD models, and engineering documentation.
- Perform engineering calculations and generate detailed reports.
- Support senior engineers with technical delivery of enquiries and projects.
- Improve product performance through new design methods and materials.
- Create and maintain accurate bills of materials within the ERP system.
- Provide technical support across departments and to end clients.
- Apply principles of Design for Manufacture and Value Engineering.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and safety standards.
Qualifications
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD software (preferably SolidWorks).
- Experience with engineering standards including BS 8888 and GD&T.
- Working knowledge of pressure vessel design (ASME VIII, PED, etc.) is advantageous.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, ideally Epicor.
- A detail-oriented, proactive mindset and strong organisational skills.
- Full right to work in the UK.
