First Achieve Engineering is working with a long-established engineering firm renowned for innovation, quality, and technical excellence across various industrial sectors including Power, Oil & Gas, and Water.

About the Role

We're seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a dynamic and supportive team, where you'll play a key role in the development and delivery of robust engineering solutions to real-world industrial challenges.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality technical drawings, CAD models, and engineering documentation.
• Perform engineering calculations and generate detailed reports.
• Support senior engineers with technical delivery of enquiries and projects.
• Improve product performance through new design methods and materials.
• Create and maintain accurate bills of materials within the ERP system.
• Provide technical support across departments and to end clients.
• Apply principles of Design for Manufacture and Value Engineering.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and safety standards.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (preferably SolidWorks).
• Experience with engineering standards including BS 8888 and GD&T.
• Working knowledge of pressure vessel design (ASME VIII, PED, etc.) is advantageous.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, ideally Epicor.
• A detail-oriented, proactive mindset and strong organisational skills.
• Full right to work in the UK.

• 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays (option to purchase additional leave)
