Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Contract)Location: Peterborough Industry: Construction Materials Manufacturing Rate: £33.00 – £34.00 p/h (Outside IR35) Shift: 4 on 4 off – Days (6:00am – 6:00pm)We're looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a high-volume manufacturing site within the construction materials sector. This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining and improving a wide range of automated plant machinery, including robotics and heavy production equipment.You'll be working as part of an established maintenance team, supporting production through a mix of planned and reactive maintenance.Key Responsibilities: Carry out mechanical maintenance on automated plant and machinerySupport breakdowns and minimise downtime across productionWork on robotics, conveyors, presses, and mixing equipmentComplete PPM activities and support continuous improvementMaintain safe and efficient operation of all equipment Requirements: Strong mechanical maintenance background in a manufacturing environmentGood experience with hydraulics and pneumatics (essential)Experience working with components such as bearings, gearboxes, chains, belts, and motorsConfident fault-finding and repairing heavy industrial machineryAbility to work independently and as part of a team Benefits: 4 on 4 off days onlyOutside IR35Immediate StartPotential for rolling extensions I am looking to speak to talented Mechanical Maintenance Engineers who are looking for a rewarding and highly challenging position.
