OverviewWe are working with a well-established manufacturing business to recruit a Mechanically biased Multi Skilled Technician to join their engineering team. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this is a key role focused on ensuring the reliability and performance of plant and equipment across the site. This position would suit a hands-on, proactive engineer who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, contributing to both planned maintenance and reactive breakdown support.
Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out mechanical and some electrical maintenance to minimise downtime across all plant and equipmentDiagnose faults and support breakdown investigations and repairsUndertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and refurbishment of machinerySet up and maintain plant and equipment to ensure optimal performanceSupport installation and commissioning of new machineryAccurately record maintenance activities, time, and materials using CMMSLiaise with contractors and suppliers to source parts and support fault findingEnsure all work is carried out in line with health & safety and statutory requirementsMaintain high housekeeping standards and follow company proceduresWork collaboratively with production and other departments to achieve operational targets
The CandidateTime-served engineering apprenticeshipMulti-skilled with both mechanical and some electrical experienceNVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds (or equivalent) in a relevant disciplineExperience within a fast-paced manufacturing environmentStrong fault-finding and problem-solving skillsFlexible, reliable, and a strong team playerSelf-motivated with a proactive approach to maintenance and improvement
