Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Location: South East London
Salary: £39,600 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday – 8:00am to 5:00pm

An opportunity has become available for a Mechanical Engineer to join a facilities and maintenance team at a large, secure public-sector site in South East London.

This role offers a stable Monday–Friday schedule, excellent job security, and the chance to work within a well-structured engineering environment maintaining essential building services systems.

The Role:

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive mechanical repairs.
• Maintaining HVAC and associated mechanical systems across the site.
• Diagnosing faults and ensuring equipment is returned to full working order.
• Supporting general mechanical maintenance including pumps, pipework, valves and plant equipment.
• Working within a team to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the facility.
• Completing maintenance documentation and following compliance procedures.

Package:

• £39,600 total salary (inclusive of allowance)
• Monday to Friday working pattern – 8am to 5pm
• Free on-site parking
• Stable, long-term position within a structured engineering team

Requirements:

• Minimum Level 2 qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing, HVAC or a related trade.
• At least 3 years’ mechanical-related maintenance experience within a building services environment.
• Experience working with HVAC or building services plant.
• Strong fault-finding and maintenance skills.
• Must be able to pass DBS and CTC security clearance checks.
