Role Overview An exciting contract opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Package Engineer to support complex energy and offshore projects. This role sits at the heart of multi-disciplinary engineering delivery, working closely with vendors, project teams, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality package execution from specification through to final documentation and handover.
You will be involved across the full project lifecycle, offering both technical depth and strong coordination skills in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate mechanical equipment and package scopes across all project phases
Prepare technical specifications, inspection and test requirements, and requests for quotation
Perform technical evaluation of vendor bids, including technical and commercial bid comparisons
Lead and support technical clarification meetings and negotiations with equipment suppliers
Review vendor documentation and consolidate comments from internal engineering disciplines
Review and verify detailed design and engineering deliverables related to mechanical packages
Support inspections and testing of package equipment at vendor facilities and site locations
Finalise vendor documentation for project close-out and handover
Expedite vendor packages where required to support project schedules
Requirements
Proven experience as a Mechanical or Package Engineer within offshore, oil and gas, energy, or renewables projects
Strong understanding of mechanical equipment packages and vendor coordination
Experience managing technical documentation, specifications, and bid evaluations
Ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary engineering teams
Comfortable engaging directly with suppliers and supporting commercial and technical discussions
Strong attention to detail with a delivery-focused mindset
Fluent in written and spoken English
