Mechanical Service Engineer / Mechanical Fitter (Assembly & Repair) Bedford Competitive Salary + Benefits Full-Time | Permanent We are looking for a hands-on Mechanical Service & Assembly Engineer to join a growing engineering team supporting the repair, servicing and assembly of industrial equipment. This role offers a mix of workshop-based mechanical assembly and repair alongside occasional field service work at customer sites. It would suit a practical engineer who enjoys fault finding, rebuilding mechanical equipment and working from engineering drawings. Key Responsibilities

Carry out mechanical servicing, fault finding and repairs

Strip, inspect and rebuild returned equipment

Perform mechanical assembly and bench fitting

Work from engineering drawings and parts lists

Assemble and test equipment to specification

Support on-site service work and commissioning when required

Produce basic repair reports

Experience Required

Background in mechanical service, maintenance or repair

Experience with mechanical assemblies

Knowledge of pneumatics or hydraulics

Ability to read engineering drawings

Experience using hand tools and workshop equipment

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
