Responsibilities and duties of the Mechanical Technician role

Reporting to the Lead Mechanical Technician you will:

Conduct planned and preventative maintenance across all plant technologies, including Mechanical Treatment, Anaerobic Digestion, and Advanced Thermal Treatment. Support the Lead Mechanical Engineer in ensuring efficient operation and upkeep of mechanical systems. Perform inspections, PPM checks, and maintenance reports accurately and promptly. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues using the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Carry out maintenance on steam valves, turbines, hydraulic systems, and gas engines. Maintain high health, safety, and environmental standards across all plant areas. Deliver team briefings and toolbox talks to ensure knowledge sharing and safety awareness. Comply with all health, safety, and legislative requirements and company policies. Contribute to a proactive maintenance strategy using condition monitoring techniques.
