Mechanical Technician
Location: Conwy, North Wales
Salary - £27,000 - £32,000
The Role
Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Mechanical Technician to join our Manufacturing Department. You will be responsible for assembling, testing, inspecting, and fault-finding a wide range of mechanical and electro-mechanical products to the highest standards of quality and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Build, assemble, and fit mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and finished products according to engineering drawings, specifications, and build manuals.
Conduct mechanical testing, pressure testing, and functional checks to verify assembly integrity.
Competent in the use of precision measuring tools (e.g. calipers, micrometers) to inspect components.
Perform fault-finding and undertake repairs on mechanical assemblies and associated equipment.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
Work collaboratively with engineers and technicians to meet production schedules.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing department. Essential Requirements
Previous experience in mechanical assembly, fitting, machining, or a similar production environment.
Applications from recent engineering graduates are also welcomed.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Good communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented approach.
Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities.
Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office proficiency and ability to learn new software.
Diligent, self-motivated, and well-organised with strong record-keeping skills. Desired Requirements and Experience
Basic knowledge of electronic principles and wiring (advantageous).
Experience in machining.
Ability to identify and repair faults.
Work in a focused manner and stay on task.
Work to the companies quality systems and Health & Safety policy.
Assist in the development of new production methods to improve current product lines or support new products.
Proactively follow health & safety procedures as set out by the company.
Hours of work Monday to Friday
