*Overview* We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic/MOT Tester to join our family run garage. Ability to MOT would be an advantage but not essential. This role involves conducting vehicle inspections, performing repairs, and ensuring vehicles meet safety and servicing standards . The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background ideally qualified to Level 3, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an opportunity to utilise your technical expertise while contributing to vehicle safety and compliance.

*Responsibilities*

* Conduct MOT tests in accordance with legal requirements and manufacturer specifications if qualified. * Diagnose mechanical issues using various hand tools and power tools * Perform repairs, maintenance, and servicing on a wide range of vehicles * Carry out safety inspections, emissions testing, and roadworthiness assessments * Assist with vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting to identify faults effectively. * Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times during vehicle inspections and repairs

*Skills*

* Strong mechanical knowledge with practical experience in vehicle repair and maintenance * Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively * Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicle parts or equipment * Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail * Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently * Knowledge of MOT testing procedures and relevant legislation (preferred but not essential) * Strong communication skills for liaising with team members and customers as required
