Location:  Based in Lewes with travel across Brighton and East Sussex Salary: £31,687 per year Hours: 37 per week, including working until 8 pm at least one night a week Contract: Fixed term until 30 June 2026

What you’ll be doing: Southdown is one of the leading providers of mental health services in Sussex.  We have transformed our services to provide easier access to mental health support for people across Brighton and East Sussex.  As a Mental Health Support Coordinator (internally called Client Transition Support Coordinator), you’ll work in partnership and in the community to provide targeted mental health and holistic support.

You’ll coordinate a team providing support to clients during a transition period moving from existing services to the new offer.  Through individual conversations you will share information about the new service, respond to concerns and signpost to other resources in the community. You’ll work in Southdown buildings and be able to travel across neighbourhoods in order to offer accessible services.  You will have experience of a dynamic approach to risk assessment and be committed to removing barriers to clients receiving the support they need.  This role will require working until 8pm at least one night a week.

Knowledge, skills and experience What you’ll need for the role:

You’ll need a good understanding of working in mental health or equivalent transferable skills

You have a genuine passion for supporting people to explore their needs

An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which will be paid for by Southdown What would be nice: Experience supporting clients experiencing mental health challenges, including those in crisis and/or facing complex challenges Training:

You’ll receive an initial induction, followed by regular in person training and supervisions to invest in your development and provide all the tools needed to succeed in this role.
