Job Title: MIG Welder / Fabricator
Pay Rate: £14.14 per hour
Hours: 48 hours per week

Job Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced MIG Welder / Fabricator to join a busy manufacturing environment on a temp-to-permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out high-quality MIG welding and fabrication work, ensuring all components meet required specifications, quality standards, and health & safety requirements.
This role offers consistent hours, paid breaks, and the opportunity for a permanent position following a successful temporary period.
Key Responsibilities MIG Welding Duties
Carry out MIG welding on mild steel components to a high standard.
Weld a variety of fabricated parts, frames, brackets, and assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings.
Set up and adjust welding equipment, including wire feed, voltage, and gas flow, to suit material thickness and job requirements.
Perform positional welding (flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead where required).
Ensure strong, clean welds with minimal spatter, distortion, or defects.
Conduct visual inspection of welds to ensure quality and compliance with specifications.
Rework or repair welds where necessary to meet quality standards.
Maintain consistent weld quality during high-volume or repetitive production runs. Fabrication & Production Duties
Read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and work instructions.
Prepare materials prior to welding, including cutting, grinding, cleaning, and tacking.
Use hand tools and power tools such as grinders, drills, clamps, and measuring equipment.
Assist with basic fabrication tasks including assembly, fitting, and finishing.
Work to production schedules while maintaining attention to detail and quality. Health, Safety & Quality
Follow all Health & Safety procedures, including PPE requirements.
Maintain a clean and organised work area in line with 5S / housekeeping standards.
Report any equipment faults, defects, or safety concerns to supervision.
Adhere to company quality standards and manufacturing procedures at all times. Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience in MIG welding within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
Ability to weld mild steel confidently and consistently.
Competent in reading and working from engineering drawings.
Good understanding of welding safety practices.
Experience working in a fast-paced production environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Desirable (but not essential)
Previous fabrication experience.
Experience with production-line or batch manufacturing.
Welding qualifications or coding (advantageous but not essential). What We Offer
