Want to play a critical role in keeping complex, live environments safe while delivering major M&E projects?
We’re looking for an experienced Low Voltage Authorised Person (LVAP) to support the delivery of multiple high-value M&E construction projects across the central and north regions. You’ll be right at the heart of site activity owning electrical safety, quality, and AP governance from pre-construction through to handover.
This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in occupied buildings, enjoys solving real-world challenges, and takes pride in getting things right first time.
The Role
Reporting to the Electrical Authorising Engineer (AE), you’ll:
Oversee electrical safety and quality across multiple live sites
Provide AP governance, assurance and sign-off
Work closely with construction managers, project teams and subcontractors
Support projects through construction, commissioning and handover
Projects typically include £1m+ electrical works, often within hospital energy centres and critical infrastructure environments.
What You’ll Be Working On
Lighting and electrical refurbishments
BMS and controls
HV/LV systems and connections to electricity distribution networks
Boiler plant rooms and CHP plants (beneficial)
Complex works delivered in occupied, operational buildings
Key Focus Areas
QSHE
Day-to-day electrical safety leadership across sites
Review and challenge subcontractor RAMS
Incident, near-miss and accident reporting
Embedding Dalkia safe systems of work at site level
Pre-Construction
Identifying buildability, logistics and H&S risks
Supporting construction phase plans and site-specific electrical procedures
Construction & Commissioning
Site inspections for quality, compliance and progress
Witness testing with consultants and authorities
Ensuring commissioning meets CIBSE, BSRIA and statutory standards
Post-Construction
Reviewing O&M manuals and supporting client handover
What We’re Looking For
You’ll be a confident, driven professional with experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor, ideally as a b and comfortable operating in busy, live environments.
Essential:
LVAP accreditation (C&G Accredited LVAP Course)
18th Edition
C&G 2391 or 2394 & 2395 (or equivalent)
ECS Gold Card
SMSTS or SSSTS
Experience delivering £1m+ complex electrical projects
Strong knowledge of HV/LV systems, BMS, lighting and distribution connections
Understanding of CIBSE, HTMs, HBNs, BSENs and IET regulations
Full UK driving licence and own transport
Desirable:
Hospital / healthcare or energy centre experience
Boiler plant room or CHP exposure
Recent asbestos awareness
