Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Mech or Elec Biased) \n\nLocation: Hull\n Salary: £40,000 - £47,000\n Hours: 3 - shift (One Week Mornings, One Week Of Backs, One of Nights) 8 Hours - Early Finish Friday! \n Contract: Full-time, permanent\n\nThe Opportunity\n\nOur client, a leading manufacturing and packaging facility operating in Hull, is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician to join their established engineering team.\n\nYou'll work across a mix of modern and ageing equipment, using your electrical and mechanical expertise to keep high-speed automated production lines running safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. This role suits a proactive, hands-on engineer capable of working to high standards without close supervision.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nProvide effective breakdown response, repairs and maintenance across machinery, equipment, services and site facilities.\n\nCarry out electrical and mechanical fault-finding, diagnostics, and repairs to minimise downtime and improve OEE.\n\nComplete planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and create new PPM schedules where needed.\n\nInstall, commission and support new machinery and equipment.\n\nRead, interpret, and update electrical and mechanical engineering drawings.\n\nLiaise with the Maintenance Supervisor to prioritise tasks aligned with production demands.\n\nLog all work using the site system (Shire) and ensure accurate documentation.\n\nMaintain excellent housekeeping standards and support 6S, TPM, and continuous improvement initiatives.\n\nAdvise production during breakdowns using strong decision-making and root-cause analysis skills.\n\nSupport external contractors and engage with suppliers when required.\n\nSkills & Experience Required\n\nEssential:\n\nCompleted apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification.\n\nNVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).\n\nProven multi-skilled engineering experience within a fast-moving manufacturing environment.\n\nAbility to read and update electrical and mechanical schematics.\n\nStrong electrical fault-finding & diagnostic competence.\n\nExperience with PPM, reactive maintenance, and plant repairs.\n\nGood communication and ability to work effectively under pressure\n\nIf interested Just apply or for a confidental chat feel free to email me on / (phone number removed)
