Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Day)

Location: Chancery Lane, Central London

Salary: £47,000

Working Hours: Monday to Friday – 08:00–17:00

Alice Rose Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Day) to join a professional on-site engineering team at a high-quality commercial building in Central London.

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, this role will suit a technically competent, hands-on engineer with both mechanical and electrical experience, capable of delivering Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Reactive Maintenance within a well-managed commercial environment. This is a single-site role with no call-out requirement, offering long-term stability and work-life balance.

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer Responsibilities:

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and performance of all building services systems, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standards and contractual KPIs.

Key duties include:

* Carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance across mechanical and electrical plant

* Ensuring all scheduled PPM tasks are completed on time

* Proactive fault finding and first-line repairs across site systems

* Issuing permits in line with site and statutory procedures

* Maintenance of HVAC and building services plant

* Supporting minor installation and modification works

* Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, tenants, and the building management team

* Taking ownership of tools, equipment, and site standards

* Acting as a point of contact for escalations during supervisor absence

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer Requirements:

* Proven experience within commercial building services or facilities maintenance

* Strong multi-skilled background with mechanical and electrical exposure

* Recognised engineering qualifications – NVQ / City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent

* Formal qualification in mechanical, electrical, or building services engineering

* Good understanding of PPM and reactive maintenance within SLA environments

* Strong communication skills and the ability to make sound decisions on site

* IT literate (basic use of CAFM systems, Excel, Word)
