Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer\n\nAre you a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer with strong experience in automated conveyor or materials handling systems? This role focuses on hands-on engineering skills and is ideal for engineers from automated warehouses, logistics centres, FMCG or automotive manufacturing or airport environments.\n\n4 on, 4 off shift pattern covering both days and nights. 24/7 operational environment, flexibility required\n\nWhat you will work on\n\n * Automated conveyor and materials handling systems in a fast-paced live environment\n\n * Mechanical, electrical and controls maintenance across automated assets\n\n * Sortation systems, conveyors, carousels, scanners, sensors, diverters, ploughs and vertical sortation units\n\n * Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown response\n\n * Electrical systems ranging from 24V DC to 415V AC\n\n * Industrial control systems, including PLC-based automation\n\n * Fault finding on mechanical, electrical and control-related issues\n\nKey skills and experience required\n\n * Proven experience maintaining automated conveyor or materials handling systems\n\n * Background in automated warehousing, logistics, FMCG, automotive or similar high-volume environments\n\n * Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills\n\n * Experience responding to live breakdowns in time-critical operations\n\n * Hands-on experience working to planned preventative maintenance schedules\n\n * Working knowledge of PLC-controlled systems and industrial automation\n\n * Experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)\n\n * Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings and O&M manuals\n\n * Experience carrying out mechanical service works in both operational and workshop settings\n\n * Strong understanding of health and safety, including risk assessments and safe systems of work\n\n * Comfortable working safely with a wide range of industrial voltages\n\nQualifications\n\n * Industry recognised engineering apprenticeship\n\n * Mechanical and electrical qualifications, minimum NVQ Level 2 or 3\n\n * Knowledge of IEE Wiring Regulations, 17th or 18th Edition\n\nWhy this role\n\n * Hands-on engineering role focused on core maintenance and automation skills\n\n * Exposure to modern automated systems and complex materials handling technology\n\n * Suitable for engineers looking to transfer skills from automated warehouses or similar environments\n\n * Stable, long-term role within a critical operational setting
