Job Description
Multi-Skilled Field Service Engineer (Electrical Bias )
Field-Based | Home-Based (Door-to-Door Travel) £30,000 – £40,000 + Overtime + Bonus + Company Vehicle
We are currently supporting a well-established organisation in the appointment of a Field Service Engineer to join their growing service team.
This is a field-based role offering a varied workload across maintenance, breakdown support, installation, and commissioning activities. It presents an excellent opportunity for a technically capable engineer seeking a position with autonomy, structure, and long-term development.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Carrying out fault finding, diagnostics, and repair work Responding to reactive breakdowns in a timely manner Completing planned preventative maintenance and routine servicing Undertaking installation and commissioning of equipment Replacing components and carrying out system upgrades where required Delivering operator training and handovers on completed installations Completing service documentation and reports accurately
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a multi-skilled engineer with a strong electrical bias and demonstrable experience across:
Electrical systems and diagnostics PLCs (ideally Siemens S5/S7) Mechanical systems Hydraulics and pneumatics
Applicants should hold a relevant qualification (e.g. HNC/HND) or have completed a recognised apprenticeship, supported by strong practical experience.
You will be self-motivated, organised, and capable of working independently while maintaining a high level of professionalism when dealing with customers.
A flexible approach to travel, overtime, and occasional overnight stays is required.
