Our client is seeking a Multiskilled Instrumentation Maintenance Technician to join their Maintenance Engineering team at a pharmaceutical contract manufacturing site.
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity within a highly regulated GMP pharmaceutical environment, offering long term stability, exposure to advanced manufacturing equipment, and the chance to develop your technical capability across instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical maintenance.
The Role
As a Multiskilled Instrumentation Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out reactive and preventative maintenance activities across the site, supporting the manufacture and development of pharmaceutical products.
You will work closely with the wider maintenance team, responding to breakdowns, diagnosing faults, and ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with GMP requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical maintenance activities across the plant
* Perform electrical and instrumentation fault finding and troubleshooting
* Execute planned preventative maintenance and breakdown maintenance with a strong focus on safety
* Respond to equipment failures, diagnose faults, record actions, and report findings
* Ensure strict adherence to GMP, safety, quality, and validation procedures
* Minimise equipment downtime and maintenance costs through effective problem-solving
* Interpret operation and maintenance manuals, drawings, P&IDs, and technical documentation
* Share knowledge within the team and support continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* A formal engineering apprenticeship or equivalent
* Minimum HNC qualification (or equivalent) with relevant industry experience
* Proven experience in Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Engineering
* Experience supporting a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment (pharmaceuticals, biotech, chemicals, or similar)
* CompEx certification – desirable
