Multi-Skilled OperativeLocation: Newmarket Salary: £28,724 per annum Working Hours: 14:00PM - 22:00PM Monday - Friday Job Type: Full time | Permanent Reports to: Team LeaderMy client is currently recruiting for a reliable and hardworking Multi-Skilled Operative to join their team in a busy manufacturing environment in Newmarket. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards of hygiene, organisation, and safety while supporting production and warehouse operations.Job SummaryThis role involves carrying out general hygiene, housekeeping, and material supply duties across the site. You will play a key part in ensuring the factory, yard, and production areas are clean, fully stocked, and operating efficiently. Flexibility is essential as you will support across multiple areas of the operation when required.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out daily pre-start inspections of the yardMonitor and maintain pallet levels in production areasEnsure changing rooms are stocked with appropriate PPEReplenish washing stations with soap, sanitiser, and hand towelsSort and distribute uniform deliveriesDispose of waste correctly into skips or compactorsFlatten cardboard and operate the cardboard balerMaintain cleanliness of the rear yard and surrounding floor areasLoad and despatch trailers as requiredBook in packaging and raw material deliveriesPick and supply packaging, materials, and PPE for productionCarry out weekly stock takes in the packaging store and cold storeComplete daily checks and support despatch activitiesLiaise with team members to receive and despatch trailersFollow all company risk assessments, procedures, and COSHH regulationsWear correct PPE at all times for each taskMaintain high personal hygiene and follow strict site hygiene standardsFollow 'clean as you go' practices at all timesOperate machinery in line with training and competencyWork flexibly across different areas of the departmentReport hazards, defects, and near misses to the Team LeaderEnsure all product and stock items are correctly labelled for traceabilityComplete all paperwork accurately and in a timely mannerFollow Defacto booking procedures ('booked as you go')Support continuous improvement in safety, quality, and efficiencyEscalate issues and support resolution of operational challengesCarry out any other reasonable duties as requested by managementKnowledge, Skills & ExperiencePrevious experience in a busy factory or production environmentAbility to work effectively as part of a teamStrong attention to detail, especially with paperwork and complianceExperience with stock handling, warehousing, or material supply dutiesFamiliarity with systems such as Defacto is advantageousExperience using pallet trucks or forklifts is desirableIf this role matches your skills and experience, we encourage you to apply below!JBRP1_UKTJ
