Job Title: .NET Developer Location: Taunton SC Cleared , Travel 2 days in a week. Role Summary We are seeking a hands-on .NET Technical Architect to lead the evolution of secure legacy and cloud-native platforms within a highly regulated environment. This is not a governance-only architecture role. You will be embedded within delivery teams, working across development, DevOps, and data layers to ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, and operationally excellent. You will combine deep technical capability with pragmatic decision-making

balancing delivery speed, reliability, cost, and security in line with Azure Well-Architected principles and modern DORA performance metrics. Key Responsibilities Design scalable, resilient cloud on Azure using Microsoft .NET technologies. Apply Framework principles across reliability, security, cost, security, and operational excellence. Remain hands-on: review code, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and database design. Shape DevOps maturity, ensuring architecture supports improved DORA metrics (Lead Time, Deployment Frequency, Change Failure Rate, MTTR). Guide database architecture decisions (relational, NoSQL, performance optimisation, indexing strategies). Define integration patterns (APIs, event-driven, microservices) aligned to system scale and complexity. Collaborate closely with lead developers and automation testers to ensure architectural decisions improve delivery flow, not hinder it. Lead architecture reviews focused on risk, scalability, and operational sustainability. Conduct threat modelling and security design reviews where applicable. Engage directly with customer stakeholders to explain trade-offs, risks, and long-term implications of design decisions. Identify opportunities for modernisation and technical uplift across legacy and cloud-native systems. Promote coding and configuration standards

and identify gaps in these. Collaborate with developers, testers, and other roles to ensure alignment. Oversee CI/CD pipeline design and integration. Document architecture decisions in Microsoft SharePoint/Wiki/Git as applicable. Identify opportunities for modernization and technical uplift. Threat modelling Required Skills & Experience Extensive hands-on experience with C# and modern .NET (.Net Framework / Core / .NET 6+). Proven experience as a hands-on Technical Architect in cloud-based environments. Strong knowledge of Azure architecture (AWS experience also valuable). Deep understanding of the Azure or AWS Well-Architected Framework. Practical experience improving delivery performance using DORA-aligned engineering practices. Strong understanding of DevOps pipelines, Git workflows, and infrastructure automation. Experience designing and optimising database solutions in enterprise systems. Experience with distributed systems, APIs, and integration patterns. Experience operating in secure or regulated environments. Familiarity with CI/CD, Git workflows, and automation. Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards. Strong documentation and communication skills. A pragmatic approach to balancing innovation with stability and risk management. Desirable Skills Experience modernising legacy systems to cloud-native architectures. Exposure to containerisation and orchestration (AKS / EKS, Docker). Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, Terraform). Knowledge observability and monitoring design (logging, tracing, metrics). Experience supporting high-availability or citizen-facing systems Exposure to DevOps/DevSecOps practices. Familiarity with hybrid cloud and on-prem integration.
